Neighborhood party
It was announced that there will be a neighborhood party on Neighborhood Night Out, Aug 2, in front of 1870 Court Ave. (Thank you Pam) Flyers will be printed and distributed to the block captains in preparation for this event.
Bus Stop cleanup
Kathy McAllen reported on the Bus Stop cleanup. A group of neighbors met there on Saturday July 16 and made a good dent in the brush and rubble surrounding the bus stop, but there is more work to be done.
Block Captains
With Ray Skinner planning to move out of the neighborhood there is a great need for additional block captains. Block captains are the people who deliver the flyers announcing future events.
Open Floor
Ray Skinner reported on the change of plans for the development that is progressing along Jefferson. The original plan called for entirely new houses to be constructed on the site, but due to complaints from the BelAire Association regarding drainage, the existing homes will remain. While these homes will be basically gutted and rehabbed, they will still remain low-income housing.
There was discussion about the need for speed-bumps on Jefferson.
Election of officers was held. Kathy McAllen will remain as Secretary, and Bill Crowder was elected to be the next Treasurer. It was decided to postpone the election of President and Vice President until the next meeting.
The next meeting will be October 25th.
The meeting was adjourned
